Spanish Employment Law - Major changes for equal treatment and opportunities for women

On 3 April the Spanish parliament’s standing committee (Diputación Permanente) ratified urgent measures for equal treatment and opportunities for women in employment, introduced by Royal Decree-law 6/2019 of 1 March 2019 (the “Royal Decree-law”).

The Royal Decree-law, which overhauls seven pieces of primary legislation, is intended to guarantee that men and women receive equal treatment in terms of employment opportunities, pay, work/life balance and shared responsibility in family life.
