Spain - Spanish government introduces new remote working legislation

Royal Decree-law 28/2020, of 22 September, on remote working, develops substantially the existing regulation on the Workers’ Statute. Significant changes include the requirement for employers to provide equipment, flexibility in working hours and the right to disconnect.

 

The legislation raises a number of issues of interpretation and refers important aspects to collective agreements, such as who pays the costs of remote working and the procedure for staff to return on-site
