Publication by the UK Law Commission of the Final Report on Digital Assets:

Following an extensive and detailed consultation on the private law issues under English law relating to digital assets, the UK Law Commission published its Final Report on Digital Assets (the “Final Report”) on 27 June 2023. As Hong Kong is a common law jurisdiction that is actively seeking to establish itself as a digital hub, the Final Report will be of special relevance given the report’s detailed analysis on the private law treatment of digital assets under English law and its finding that the common law is sufficiently resilient and flexible to recognise digital assets.
